Serves 4

INGREDIENTS

4 ripe but firm pears, peeled and halved
750ml red wine
1 cinnamon stick
4 cloves
Zest of 1 orange
100g sugar
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving

 

METHOD

1. Preheat your air fryer to 160°C

2. In a saucepan, combine red wine, cinnamon stick, cloves, orange zest, and sugar. Bring to a gentle simmer for 5 minutes.

3. Place the pear halves in the air fryer basket and pour the mulled wine mixture over them.

4. Air fry for 12-15 minutes until the pears are tender but still hold their shape.

5. Serve the poached pears with a drizzle of the mulled wine syrup and a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.


HANDY TIP

For a non-alcoholic version, substitute red wine with apple cider and adjust sugar according to taste.
