        <title>Spring Cleaning for Pet Owners: Easy Ways to Refresh Your Carpets</title>
        <link>https://www.towerhousewares.co.uk/blog/spring-cleaning-for-pet-owners</link>
        <description>

Tackle pet mess and keep carpets fresh this spring

Simple ways to refresh carpets, lift everyday dirt and tackle pet mess with less effort.

Spring is usually when that becomes more noticeable, and when a deeper clean starts to feel worthwhile.

If you&rsquo;re working through a full home refresh, our ultimate spring cleaning guide is a helpful place to start.

A deeper clean than vacuuming alone

Vacuuming will always have its place, but it really only deals with what&rsquo;s on the surface.

A carpet washer goes a little further, lifting the dirt that sits deeper down and giving carpets that properly refreshed feel you don&rsquo;t quite get from a quick clean.

For larger areas or full room refreshes, something like the Tower TCW5 AquaJetPlus carpet washer is designed to cover more space efficiently.

Especially useful in pet-friendly homes

In homes with pets, carpets tend to tell a slightly different story.

Muddy paw prints, damp fur and the odd spill are just part of everyday life.

That&rsquo;s where a more compact option like the AquaJetPlus Spot Pro cleaner comes into its own &mdash; ideal for quick clean-ups when something&rsquo;s just happened.

Using a carpet washer without overcomplicating it

Using a carpet washer is refreshingly straightforward.

There&rsquo;s no need to rush it, and actually, a steady pass tends to give the best results.

Top tip: A lighter, even pass is often more effective than going over the same area repeatedly.

Everyday moments: muddy paws and quick clean-ups

Spring tends to bring more time outdoors, which usually means a little more of the outside making its way back in.

Those familiar muddy paw prints across the carpet are a good example&nbsp;easy to spot, but also easy to deal with if you catch them early.

For a mix of quick clean-ups and deeper refreshes, the AquaJetPro carpet washer offers a flexible option for everyday use.

Small habits that make a difference

What makes the biggest difference over time isn&rsquo;t doing everything at once, but keeping on top of the areas that see the most use.

High-traffic spots, entryways and anywhere pets tend to settle are usually the first to benefit from a quick refresh.

Don&rsquo;t forget beyond the carpet

Rugs, upholstery and stairs often go unnoticed during a spring clean, but giving them a quick refresh can make the whole room feel more complete.

Hard floors can benefit from the same kind of attention too.

With features like a powered brush bar and water spray, it&rsquo;s designed to tackle dirt and grime efficiently while keeping clean and dirty water separate for a more hygienic finish.

It&rsquo;s one of those small finishing steps that helps bring the whole space together.

A fresher home for the new season

Spring cleaning doesn&rsquo;t always need to be a full reset in one go.

Sometimes it&rsquo;s just about finding a few things that make everyday cleaning feel easier.

Explore Tower&rsquo;s range of carpet washers to help keep your home feeling fresh this spring.

        <title>Spring Cleaning Made Easier with a Steam Cleaner</title>
        <link>https://www.towerhousewares.co.uk/blog/spring-cleaning-made-easier-with-a-steam-cleaner</link>
        <description>

Simple steam cleaning ideas to refresh your home

Spring cleaning often starts with the big jobs like&nbsp;clearing cupboards, wiping surfaces and giving kitchens and bathrooms a proper refresh.

A steam cleaner is one of those things that tends to surprise people once they start using it.

If you&rsquo;re planning a seasonal reset, you might also enjoy our ultimate spring cleaning guide, which shares simple ways to refresh your home room by room.

@tower_housewares

It&rsquo;s not just about floors

Steam cleaners are often associated with floors, but they can be just as useful in the smaller, more detailed areas around the home.

Tiles, grout and the edges around sinks or hobs can be tricky to clean properly with a cloth alone.

It&rsquo;s particularly noticeable in the kitchen, where grease can quietly build up over time.

A simple way to freshen your bin

The kitchen bin is one of those things you use every day but don&rsquo;t always think about cleaning in detail.

Over time, residue can build up around the lid and inner rim, even when you&rsquo;re using liners.

If you&rsquo;re looking for more everyday ways to keep things fresh, take a look at how to keep your kitchen bin fresh.

Bringing grout back to life

Grout is one of those areas that can make a whole room feel a bit dull when it&rsquo;s looking tired.

Steam can help lift dirt from grout lines more gently than scrubbing, especially when you use a smaller nozzle attachment to focus on the detail.

Top tip: Use a narrow nozzle attachment to target grout lines directly.

It&rsquo;s a small change that can make tiles look noticeably fresher.

The spots that are easy to miss

Around taps, along seals and in the corners of appliances &mdash; there are always a few areas that don&rsquo;t get as much attention during a quick clean.

These are often the places where steam really comes into its own.

It&rsquo;s a simple way to freshen up those in-between areas that can make a space feel properly clean.

A gentle refresh for soft furnishings

Steam isn&rsquo;t just useful on hard surfaces.

It can also be used to lightly freshen things like curtains, cushions or upholstered dining chairs &mdash; especially pieces that are used often but don&rsquo;t get washed regularly.

Unexpected use: A quick pass of steam over dining chairs or fabric seating can help lift everyday odours and freshen them up between cleans.

Making kitchen cleaning feel easier

Grease around hobs, splashbacks and extractor fans can be one of the more time-consuming parts of cleaning the kitchen.

Steam helps soften that build-up, so it wipes away more easily afterwards.

Finishing touches that make a difference

Once surfaces are clean, it&rsquo;s often the finishing touches that really change how a space feels.

On glass, mirrors or shower screens, removing leftover moisture properly helps avoid streaks and marks.

Used alongside a steam cleaner, it helps everything feel a little brighter and more put together.

A more natural way to clean

One of the things people tend to like most about steam cleaning is how simple it is.

Because it uses just water, there&rsquo;s less need for multiple cleaning products, and surfaces don&rsquo;t feel coated afterwards.

Spring cleaning doesn&rsquo;t always have to mean doing everything at once.

Sometimes it&rsquo;s just about finding a few tools and habits that make everyday cleaning feel easier.

Using a steam cleaner for everyday cleaning alongside simple finishing touches like a window vac can help keep your home feeling fresh without too much effort.

        <title>How to Keep Your Kitchen Bin Fresh</title>
        <link>https://www.towerhousewares.co.uk/blog/how-to-keep-your-kitchen-bin-fresh</link>
        <description>

Spring Cleaning Starts with Your Bin

When it comes to spring cleaning, most of us focus on clearing cupboards, wiping worktops and finally tackling the back of the fridge.

Your kitchen bin deals with everything from food packaging to cooking waste every day.

The good news is that keeping your bin fresh doesn&rsquo;t require a huge cleaning routine.

Start with a proper bin clean

Even when you use bin liners, small leaks and food residue can build up inside the bin over time.

Warm soapy water combined with a good disinfectant spray is usually enough to tackle everyday grime.

Top tip: After cleaning the bin, sprinkle a small amount of bicarbonate of soda in the bottom before adding a new liner.

For a deeper clean, a steam cleaner can make the job even easier.

Why kitchen bins start to smell

Most bin odours come from a combination of food waste and trapped moisture.

Simple habits can help prevent this:

	Empty the bin regularly, especially when it contains food waste
	Wipe down the lid and rim with disinfectant occasionally
	Make sure liners are tied securely to prevent leaks
	Clean the inside of the bin every week or two

These small steps can make a noticeable difference in keeping your kitchen feeling fresh.

Choose a bin designed for hygiene

If you&rsquo;re replacing your bin during spring cleaning, it&rsquo;s worth looking for features that help reduce odours and make cleaning easier.

Modern bins often include practical features such as touch-free lids, removable inner buckets and built-in filter compartments.

Some bins also include odour-control technology.

Cleaning idea: Wipe the bin lid and surrounding worktop area with disinfectant spray when you change the liner.

Don&rsquo;t forget to replace your filters

If your bin includes a carbon filter, replacing it regularly is one of the easiest ways to keep odours under control.

Filters work by absorbing moisture and neutralising smells before they escape into the kitchen.

Fresh filters paired with regular cleaning help ensure your kitchen stays hygienic and pleasant, even in busy households.

A fresher kitchen for the new season

Spring cleaning is the perfect opportunity to refresh the spaces we use every day &mdash; including the kitchen bin.

A quick clean with disinfectant, a little bicarbonate of soda to absorb moisture, fresh filters and a well-designed bin can all help keep unwanted smells at bay.

With the right tools and a few simple habits, your kitchen can feel noticeably cleaner and fresher throughout the season.

Explore Tower&rsquo;s range of waste bins, odour-reducing Ozone filter bins and practical steam cleaners to help make everyday kitchen cleaning easier.

        <title>Ultimate Spring Cleaning Guide</title>
        <link>https://www.towerhousewares.co.uk/blog/ultimate-spring-cleaning-guide</link>
        <description>

Tips & Tricks for a Fresh Home

Spring is the perfect time to reset your home.

But spring cleaning doesn&rsquo;t have to mean a full weekend of scrubbing every surface.

From refreshing fabrics to brightening up your windows, here are some simple ways to get the most out of your spring clean with help from Tower&rsquo;s dusting and floorcare range, steam cleaners and window cleaning tools, garment steamers and practical clothes airers.

Start with the spaces you normally overlook

One of the best spring cleaning tricks is to begin with the areas that rarely get attention during your regular routine.

These often-overlooked spots are usually what stop a home from feeling truly fresh.

Top tip: Work from top to bottom in each room.

A versatile tool like a steam cleaner can make these awkward jobs much easier, especially when tackling sealed floors, tiles, grout and bathroom surfaces without relying on lots of harsh chemicals.

Let natural light show you what needs attention

One of the simplest spring cleaning hacks is to clean during the brightest part of the day.

If your windows are looking dull after winter, a dedicated glass-cleaning tool can help bring them back to life with far less effort.

It&rsquo;s one of those small jobs that has a big visual impact.

Refresh fabrics without washing absolutely everything

Spring cleaning isn&rsquo;t just about hard surfaces.

Instead of stripping everything down for a full wash, steam can be a quick way to freshen fabrics and smooth out creases at the same time.

Out-of-the-box idea: Use a garment steamer to freshen up curtains while they&rsquo;re still hanging.

Give your floors a proper seasonal reset

Floors take a lot through winter, from muddy shoes and pet hair to the dust that settles in corners and under furniture.

Rather than focusing only on the middle of the room, pay attention to the edges, under sofas, under beds and along skirting boards where dirt tends to gather unnoticed.

Tower&rsquo;s dusting and floorcare essentials are a great fit for these everyday jobs, helping you stay on top of dust and debris with less effort.

Use spring cleaning as a chance to reset your wardrobe

Spring is also the perfect moment to switch out the heavy layers and give your wardrobe a bit of breathing room.

A practical clothes airer is ideal for drying bulky items indoors when the weather is unpredictable, and it can also help when airing freshly washed bedding or delicate fabrics.

	Wash winter scarves, knitwear and throws before storing
	Air out coats and jackets before packing them away
	Rotate seasonal clothing so everyday items are easier to reach
	Donate anything you didn&rsquo;t wear this winter

A simple trick here is the hanger method: turn all hangers backwards, then switch them back after each wear.

Try the 15 minute reset trick

One of the reasons spring cleaning feels overwhelming is the idea that everything has to be done in one day.

Set a timer for 15 minutes and focus on one small zone &mdash; a bathroom shelf, a kitchen cupboard, a hallway console or the top of a wardrobe.

			15 minute task
			Why it works

			Clean mirrors and glass
			Instantly makes rooms feel brighter

			Steam curtains or cushions
			Freshens fabrics without extra laundry

			Vacuum under furniture
			Targets dust you normally don&rsquo;t see

			Sort one shelf or drawer
			Creates visible progress quickly

A fresher home for the new season

Spring cleaning doesn&rsquo;t need to be complicated.

Whether you&rsquo;re steaming fabrics, polishing windows or refreshing your floors, Tower&rsquo;s range of steam cleaners, floorcare essentials, garment steamers and clothes airers can help make the job quicker, easier and far more satisfying.

        <title>Easy Mother’s Day Brunch Ideas to Enjoy at Home</title>
        <link>https://www.towerhousewares.co.uk/blog/mothers-day-brunch</link>
        <description>

Simple ideas for a relaxed Mother&rsquo;s Day

Mother&rsquo;s Day brunch is an easy way to celebrate without the pressure of restaurant bookings or a full roast.

Whether you&rsquo;re planning a family brunch or something more low-key, these ideas are designed to be flexible and easy to adapt at home.

How to build a simple Mother&rsquo;s Day brunch

A great brunch doesn&rsquo;t need a long menu.

Start with one savoury dish like eggs, smoked salmon or a baked brunch recipe.

Keeping things simple means you can spend less time cooking and more time enjoying the morning together.

Starting the day with tea or coffee sets the tone.

Easy savoury brunch ideas

	Avocado toast with eggs &ndash; topped with poached, fried or scrambled eggs.
	Breakfast wraps &ndash; filled with eggs, mushrooms, cheese or bacon.
	Mini brunch plates &ndash; sausages, hash browns and roasted tomatoes.

If you're cooking for a group, using a grill can make brunch preparation easier.

Easy air fryer brunch recipe ideas

The air fryer works particularly well for brunch dishes that need to be cooked quickly and served straight to the table.

	Air fryer breakfast sausages &ndash; quick to cook and easy to keep warm while you prepare the rest of brunch.
	Golden hash browns or breakfast potatoes &ndash; crisp on the outside and soft inside, with minimal oil.
	Roasted cherry tomatoes and mushrooms &ndash; a lighter, veggie-friendly addition to the table.
	Mini frittatas or egg muffins &ndash; ideal for preparing ahead and serving warm.
	Air fryer bacon &ndash; less mess and easy to cook in batches.

These dishes can be prepared using an air fryer such as the Elite 11L Flexi Draw Air Fryer, which makes it easier to cook savoury items without juggling pans on the hob.

Sweet treats for the table

	Pancake stacks or waffles with berries and syrup
	French toast dusted with icing sugar
	Pastries or toasted fruit bread

Keeping toast and pastries warm is easier with a digital toaster like the Mirage 2 Slice Digital Toaster.

Brunch drinks with a fun twist

A simple drink can make brunch feel more special.

	Frozen strawberry mocktail &ndash; strawberries and lemonade, with optional prosecco or vodka.
	Frozen peach or mango drink &ndash; light, fruity and easy to serve.
	Frozen coffee-style drink &ndash; a good option if brunch turns into a long catch-up.

The Slushie 2.

Finishing touches that make a difference

	Serve everything at the table rather than buffet-style
	Add fresh flowers or a simple table setting
	Take care of the washing up so Mum doesn&rsquo;t have to

A relaxed Mother&rsquo;s Day brunch at home

Mother&rsquo;s Day brunch does not need to be complicated.

        <title>Valentine’s Fakeaway: A Simple Date Night In Menu</title>
        <link>https://www.towerhousewares.co.uk/blog/valentines-fakeaway</link>
        <description>

Easy fakeaway dinner ideas, sides and drinks for Valentine&rsquo;s Day

Valentine&rsquo;s Day does not have to mean booking a restaurant or spending hours cooking.

This guide shows how to put together a relaxed Valentine&rsquo;s menu at home, with sharing-style starters, a choice of mains, straightforward sides and simple drinks and desserts to finish.

1) Your Valentine&rsquo;s fakeaway game plan

	Choose dishes that are easy to cook but feel different to everyday meals.
	Pick one main and keep sides quick and flexible.
	Plan the cooking order so everything is ready at the same time.

2) Tapas-style starters

A small selection of tapas-style dishes works well as a starter and avoids the need for a formal first course.

	Crispy halloumi bites served with sweet chilli or honey
	Patatas bravas-style potatoes with paprika seasoning and dip
	Garlic bread or flatbread slices for sharing

Cooking smaller dishes like these is straightforward in a dual basket air fryer such as the Vortx Vizion 8L Dual Basket Air Fryer (T17104), which allows you to prepare more than one item at the same time.

3) Valentine&rsquo;s fakeaway mains&nbsp;

For the main course, choose something that feels a step up from a standard weeknight meal but is still manageable at home.

	Steak night fakeaway
	A straightforward option that works well for Valentine&rsquo;s Day.
	Crispy chicken Parmesan
	Breaded chicken cooked until golden, topped with tomato sauce and melted mozzarella, then served with fries or salad.
	Creamy mushroom and spinach pasta
	A reliable vegetarian option that feels like a restaurant-style dish without being heavy.

4) Simple sides

	Seasoned fries or sweet potato wedges
	Green salad with a light dressing
	Roasted vegetables with olive oil and herbs

A dual basket air fryer such as the Vortx Vizion 8L Dual Basket Air Fryer can help keep sides and mains cooking at the same time.

5) Drinks and desserts&nbsp;

Keep the end of the meal simple by pairing one drink with one dessert.

	Strawberry frozen mocktail
	Serve as-is, or add a splash of prosecco or vodka for an easy cocktail-style drink.
	Pair with: chocolate-dipped strawberries or shortbread.
	Frozen berry lemonade
	Refreshingly sharp on its own or add gin or vodka for a simple frozen cocktail.
	Pair with: mini no-bake cheesecake pots.
	Chocolate dessert-style frozen drink
	Rich and indulgent as a mocktail, or add a small splash of coffee liqueur, rum or Irish cream for an after-dinner option.
	Pair with: warm cookie cups or brownies.

The Slushie 2.

A Valentine&rsquo;s fakeaway made simple

A good Valentine&rsquo;s meal at home doesn&rsquo;t need to be complicated.

        <title>Energy Saving Week: Cook Smarter This January with Tower</title>
        <link>https://www.towerhousewares.co.uk/blog/energy-saving-week-cook-smarter-this-january-with-tower</link>
        <description>

The Smarter Way to Save Energy in the Kitchen

If you&rsquo;re cooking at home more in January, energy bills tend to come under extra pressure especially when you&rsquo;re making smaller meals and switching the oven on more often.

The good news is that saving energy doesn&rsquo;t mean changing what you eat.

For everyday meals, the three biggest money-savers are usually: air fryers, microwaves and slow cookers&nbsp;because they heat faster, waste less energy and help you avoid running a full oven when you don&rsquo;t need to.

Why the oven can be the most expensive habit in the kitchen

Ovens are built for big jobs;&nbsp;full trays, roasting joints, and family meals.

	Large internal space to heat
	Preheating times of 10&ndash;15 minutes
	Heat loss every time the door opens
	Similar energy use whether you cook one portion or four

That&rsquo;s why switching to smaller appliances for day-to-day cooking can make a noticeable difference over time.

Air fryers: quicker cooking, less time switched on

Air fryers are designed to cook food quickly using hot, circulating air.

They&rsquo;re especially useful for smaller portions when you want a crispy finish without running the oven.

Want even easier air frying?

			Food
			Air Fryer
			Fan Oven

			French fries
			18 minutes
			20 minutes

			Steak
			5 minutes
			12 minutes

			Chicken drumsticks
			20 minutes
			25 minutes

			Sausages
			12 minutes
			18 minutes

Best for: chips, chicken, breaded foods, salmon, roasted veg, quick midweek dinners.

Explore AIRX: Available in sizes like a 5L and 8L option for everyday cooking.

Microwaves: the quickest way to heat food efficiently

Microwaves are one of the most energy-efficient appliances in the kitchen because they heat food quickly and directly &mdash; without needing to warm up a whole oven space.

If you&rsquo;re reheating leftovers, defrosting ingredients&nbsp;or cooking simple foods fast, the microwave is often the cheapest option to run.

	Great for reheating meals without turning the oven on
	Ideal for defrosting meat, bread and frozen ingredients
	Useful for quick meals like rice, veg and jacket potatoes

Best for: reheating, defrosting, quick steaming and fast weekday lunches.

One appliance, two jobs: If you&rsquo;re tight on space (or just want a smarter setup), Tower&rsquo;s AirWave Pro 2-in-1 combines an air fryer and microwave in one.

Slow cookers: low, steady heat for comfort food (and batch cooking)

Slow cookers use low heat over a longer time, making them ideal for hearty winter meals, particularly when you want to cook multiple portions in one go.

Because the lid keeps heat trapped inside the pot, slow cookers can be a low-energy way to make filling meals without relying on the oven.

			Meal type
			Why it saves energy
			Best for

			Stew / Casserole
			One-pot cooking, minimal heat loss
			Comfort meals

			Chilli / Curry
			Easy to cook in bulk for leftovers
			Batch cooking

			Soup / Dhal
			Low-cost ingredients, high portions
			Lunches

Best for: curries, stews, soups, chilli, pulled meats, family meals.

Which appliance saves the most energy?

Each appliance has its place, the trick is using the most efficient one for what you&rsquo;re cooking.

	Use the microwave when you&rsquo;re reheating or cooking something quickly
	Use the air fryer when you want a crispy finish without the oven
	Use the slow cooker when you want a hot meal ready later (and extra portions)
	Use the oven when you&rsquo;re cooking large trays or baking

If you swap even a few oven meals per week for an air fryer, microwave, or slow cooker, it can help reduce your overall energy use across the month without changing what you eat.

&nbsp;

&nbsp;

INGREDIENTS
1.
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 large onions
4 tbsp plain flour
500ml golden ale
1 tbsp yeast or beef extract
1 tbsp dark brown soft sugar
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
&frac12; bunch of thyme
2 bay leaves
500ml hot beef stock
2 tsp cornflour
&nbsp;

METHOD

STEP 1 > Select the Sear/Saut&eacute; function on your multi cooker and heat 1 tbsp of the oil.

&nbsp;

STEP 2 > Season the brisket generously with salt and pepper, then brown it all over (about 8&ndash;10 mins).

&nbsp;

STEP 3 > Add another drizzle of oil if needed, then cook the onions with a pinch of salt for about 10&ndash;12 mins, stirring occasionally, until lightly golden.

&nbsp;

STEP 4 > Sprinkle over the flour and stir well to coat.

&nbsp;

STEP 5 > Pour in the ale, stirring to scrape up any browned bits from the base of the pot.

&nbsp;

STEP 6 > Stir in the yeast/beef extract, sugar, and vinegar.

&nbsp;

STEP 7 > Return the brisket to the pot, add the bay leaves and thyme, and pour in just enough hot stock so the brisket is half submerged.

&nbsp;

STEP 8 > Close the lid, switch to Slow Cook &ndash; Low and cook for 7&ndash;8 hours, or 4 hours on High, until the beef is tender enough to pull apart easily.

&nbsp;

STEP 9 > Carefully remove the brisket and keep it covered to stay warm.

&nbsp;

STEP 10 > Select Simmer/Reduce (or Sear/Saut&eacute; if your model doesn&rsquo;t have a reduce function) and bubble the sauce for 10&ndash;15 mins until thickened.

&nbsp;

TIP

Shred leftover brisket and serve in soft rolls with gravy or barbecue sauce for an easy next-day dinner.
