
Fantastic Father’s Day Feast: Creamy Garlic Mushroom Starter
With Father’s Day just a few weeks away (Sunday 19 June), there’s never been a better time to show your appreciation for your Dad and how better to do that than with a lovingly prepared homemade meal. If culinary expertise isn’t quite in your repertoire however, here at Tower, we’re here to help with a series of step-by-step guides to help you cook up a mouthwatering culinary marvel that is sure to wow your daddy dearest! Today we’re kicking it off with a delicious starter of Creamy Garlic Mushrooms on Toast. Total time to table: 15 minutes Total Cost Per Serving: £0.75p Contains Nuts? No Suitable for Vegetarians? 500g pack mixed mushrooms (halved) 150ml hot vegetable stock 2 x garlic cloves (crushed) ½ x 300g tub garlic & herb soft cheese 2 x tsp vegetable oil 2 x small baguettes (sliced open and halved)
Preparation
- Heat the oil in a large frying pan like the 28cm Colour Change Ceramic Coated Frying Pan, then tip in the mushrooms and garlic and cook for around 3 minutes until softened.
- Add the soft cheese and the stock and simmer for 2 mins. Generously season with black pepper.
- Cut the bread in half.
- Add into a grill pan (the Tower 24cm Grill Pan would be ideal) and grill for a 1 minute on each side or until lightly golden.
Serving
- Serve the bread on a plate topped with the warm mushrooms.
